Based in the Temple Bar district of Dublin, Claddagh Records was founded in 1959 by Garech Browne and Ivor Browne. Together they have created a highly respected label specializing in traditional Irish music and spoken word and have recorded iconic albums such as Tommy Potts “The Liffey Banks”, Dolores Keane “There was a maid” Chieftains 1,2 & 3 and many others.

Prior to his death in 2018, Garech’s wish was for Claddagh recordings to be accessible to fans around the world nationally and internationally.

Today, the Browne family remains involved with the business, ensuring that Garech’s wish is granted. This year, they took another step towards making his dream come true with the launch of their new website.

“Claddagh’s new online store was redesigned and relaunched in 2021 with the aim of becoming the premier stop for Irish traditional and folk music. With an ever-evolving offering, is dedicated to bringing the best of poetry Irish., Irish music and merchandise direct to our customers’ doors.
