WHAT TO WATCH
–The good news is that Notre Dame won’t have to face the Big 12 pitcher of the year in Texas Tech pitcher Brandon Birdsell. The bad news is that the Irish will face Andrew Morris, who has been the Red Raiders Friday starter for the whole year. Quite the 1-2 punch.
–Texas Tech is 31-2 when holding their opponent to five runs or less and 28-0 when the Red Raiders have more hits than their opponent. Another interesting stat is that Texas Tech is 31-2 in the lead after six innings.
– It should be noted that Texas Tech has scored six or more points in 39 games this season and the Red Raiders are 33-6 in those games.
