OL 2023 Austin Siereveld enjoys his last trip to Notre-Dame

2023 Lakota East (Ohio) Offensive Lineman Austin Siereveld‍ has been a staple at Notre Dame for the past few months and made another trip to South Bend on Saturday.

The four-star prospect traveled to Ohio State last weekend and wanted to return to Notre Dame to meet the staff, but also see the Irish offensive line in action at the Blue-Gold Game.

“It went wonderfully,” Siereveld told ISD. “I really wanted to watch the spring game and talk to coach (Marcus Freeman) and coach (Harry) Hiestand and all the other guys.”

After observing the Irish offensive line, Sierveld felt he had seen patterns that matched his play and was impressed with how the big guys sucked him in during the day at 83 degrees.

“I could tell they were dying to have so many guys there because of the heat,” Sierveld explained. “I spoke to some of them before the game and they had never trained in this heat because it was 40 degrees.

“I thought they did well.”

Sierveld was able to mix it up with commits from Notre Dame and other offensive line targets, including Sullivan Abcherand Monroe Freeling‍, but it was his conversation with Hiestand that got him thinking.

“It’s about which school is right for me and how they’re different,” Sierveld said. “And I have to choose the right one.”

As far as a decision goes, Sierveld could commit sooner rather than later.

“I’m not sure yet,” Siereveld said. “I would like to make my decision soon, but if not, I will take my official visits.”
