Christy’s new studio album, Flying into Mystery, will be released worldwide on November 19 and will contain 12 songs.
The upcoming album is described as “a collection that Christy has brought to life through her distinctive writing and unique interpretation of songs by other artists.”
Christy has garnered a loyal fan base both in Ireland and abroad over her decades of performance. The singer has released over 25 solo albums including Paddy on the Road (1969) and his pair of multi-platinum live albums, On the Road and Magic Nights in 2017 and 2018.
Speaking about the new album ahead of its November release, Christy said, “Since 1969 I have been involved in recording, but never with a total lack of live performance. As of March 2020, my focus is on this album.
“I have had the privilege of receiving great songs which have kept me very busy.
“I produced with Jim Higgins and David Meade designed the project. There are songs by Ricky Lynch, Paul Doran, Mick Hanly, Wally Page, Tom Tuohy, Gary Moore, Jim Page and Bob Dylan.
“These sit side by side with traditional songs and a few of my own offerings. “
