Irish/Scottish folk band Character Fleadh will premiere their upcoming album _Logical Fleadh_ at the Beverly Arts Center.

Recorded as a medley of Character Fleadh and rock band Tautologic, _Logical Fleadh_ adds “oomph” rock, a contemporary twist and Chicago accent to traditional Celtic melodies.

_Logical Fleadh_ has received funding from the Illinois Arts Council and the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

Active since 2008, Character Fleadh wrapped up their annual St. Patrick’s Day run in March 2019. After a series of gigs, they headed to Rax Trax Recording to record the basic tracks for the album in a two-day session. .

In 2020 and 2021, the pandemic left the band quiet on St. Patrick’s Day, but bandleader/producer Ethan Sellers got to work completing the album and lined up an array of special guests. , including violist Chuck Bontrager, Grammy-winning cellist Nick Photinos, gold medalist Seán O’Riada, Seán Gavin, and Solas co-founder and accordionist John Williams.

The forthcoming album combines driving jigs and reels, touching ballads and Sellers originals that combine an Irish cadence with rock grooves and witty lyrics.

Character Fleadh features Ethan Sellers (acoustic guitar, piano, vocals), Emily Albright (violin, vocals), Dana Joras (flute, piccolo, vocals), Joe Kilroy (banjo), Nathan Britsch (bass), and Pat Buzby (drums, bodhran ).
