St. John’s College (Md.) has been nice to Notre Dame in recent years on the recruiting trail as security DJ Brown and long snapper Alex Peitsch signed with the Irish.
Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington stopped by St. John’s College earlier this week and offered the 2025 defensive lineman Trent Wilson, who was pretty excited to hear the news on Tuesday.
“My coach called me and said Notre Dame proposed to me,” Wilson told ISD. “I was very excited to receive the offer.”
The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder now holds top offers from Marshall, Maryland, Notre Dame and Toledo, but Wilson knows that’s just the beginning.
“It’s exciting, but I have a lot of work to do,” Wilson said. “I’m humbled about it because I have more work to do.”
Wilson embraces hard work and despite an impressive freshman season, the St. John’s College standout has continued to work in the offseason as he saw the results pay off last year.
“I put in a lot of work,” Wilson explained. “Hard work pays off.
“Right now I’m focused on improving my overall game,” Wilson said. “I can improve everywhere. I’m still improving in all parts of my game.”
The next step in Wilson’s recruitment will be to make visits to familiarize himself with the programs that recruit him.
“I haven’t visited any schools yet, but I’m looking forward to visiting programs,” Wilson said.
“Academics are primary and sports are secondary for me. I look forward to getting a good education and doing well on the pitch at the same time.”
