2024 LB Zavier Hamilton talks about Notre Dame and more

Months after landing an offer from Notre Dame and months after his first visit to South Bend, the 2024 Florida linebacker Zavier Hamilton‍ was back in town for Irish Invasion earlier this month.

“I had a lot of fun competing with all the top players that were there and I feel like I did very well against them all,” the 6ft1, 205lbs player later told Irish Sports Daily .

Hamilton made the trip with C3 Elite National 7-on-7 coach Dwayne Carter.

“I love the culture around Notre Dame and how well they establish their level of excellence in football and academic excellence,” he said.

“I love Coach Free (Marcus Freeman) and what he stands for; he insists on the little things and the little things are what makes a great football team; like the “foot on the line”. You can’t have your foot on the line where everyone has to run. That’s the kind of stuff I joke about.

The Navarre high school star also enjoyed being coached by Irish graduate assistant – and former Ohio State American linebacker – James Laurinaitis.

“I love Coach Laurinaitis,” Hamilton said. “He’s a character. He has a lot of energy and I like the way he bounces around. It was just great to be around him.

Hamilton’s offer sheet also includes schools like Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina and Arkansas, among others.

He had a busy June with stops scheduled in Clemson, Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, USF and Arkansas.

Clemson is a great school for him along with Kentucky…and Notre Dame.

“Notre Dame is definitely in the Top 3.”
